WEST have joined up with WhatSUP to host the Woolacombe weekender. Now in its fourth yearwe look forward to seeing you at our  campsite in the beautiful North Devon resort of Woolacombe.

Please join us on the 13th 14th and 15th of August for a water sports and camping weekend.

If you are after a relaxing weekend camping with friends and other watersports enthusiasts this is a weekend for you.

We have the site to ourselves so you wont be parked a mile away from your friends.

Due to the current climate and fire regulations we will be asking everyone to leave a minimum 5m gap between vehicles.

At the moment we are going to assume that some restrictions due to covid will apply to this event.

We will be adhearing to any gudelines that are in place at the time of the event.

There is plenty of room for tents and campervans of all sizes (see below).

There wont be a problem finding a space big enough to accommodate all your friends.

You wont be charged extra for your awnings.

Dogs are aloud (see below) and there is no curfew on music, all we ask is that you respect your neighbors and the field we are privileged to be able to use.

The campsite will be set in a field that we have rented for the weekend .

We have sole use of the field so there is plenty of room for camping and campervans.

Small caravans are welcome but the entrance to the site is tight so larger caravans may struggle to get in.

Signs will be put up to guide you to the campsite.

The CampSite looks down over the valley to the ocean and gives us easy access to beaches that can cope with almost all wind conditions.

The camp site will be open for guests at 3:00pm on the Friday afternoon and you are free to use the site until Sunday evening.

Volunteers and crew will be onsite before and after the event.

When you arrive please talk to one of the WEST team who will be able to advise you on a spot that’s right for you.

This event is family friendly and the site will have a quiet area for those with young kids and people not wishing to party too late.

This obviously means we will be having a naughty area for those who believe sleeping is cheating!

For anyone in the middle you will find a spot that suits your needs.

Dogs are welcome but please bear in mind we will have children on site and other dogs.

The field is part of a working farm and so livestock is likely to be present in the neighboring fields.

As owners you know your dogs well enough to know if they can be trusted.

Any issues will be dealt with quickly and if there is a problem dogs and thier owners will be asked to leave.

As we will be staying on a working farm it is important to leave the campsite as we found it.

We ask all guests to use the recycling bins that will be provided .

Any rubbish that cannot be recycled or burned needs to be disposed of by yourselves or taken away with you.

We are very fortunate to be allowed access to this beautiful spot and wish to be able to use it again.

 please “leave no trace”.

The site has water and will have toilets.

anti bacterial wipes/sprays will be provided so the taps can be cleaned before and after using them.

The toilets will be regularly disinfected throughout the weekend and we will provide hand washing facilities to be used before and after using the toilets .

If you have your own chemical toilets please use them we have the facilities for emptying chemical toilets and help us keep up our social distancing.

Generators will provide power for lighting and sound systems but we cannot offer electric hook up.

The site does NOT have showers but there are several options to use facilities near by, or you can just get in the sea 🙂

We will be erecting several marquee’s to cope with the glorious sunshine we have ordered for the weekend.

If for some reason our order gets misplaced they will also act as shelter against the standard British summer weather.

We will have a camp fire but this year we will not be providing a Gas BBQ for use by our guests .

Private BBQs Will be aloud and small fire pits but we ask you to keep these off the ground to avoid burn marks across the field.

Please ask one of the WEST staff  on site before you light any fires and we will provide you with protection for the grass. Please bring your own  wood for burning.

Please do not forage for wood in the trees and hedgerows.

As you can imagine we will have quite a bit of kit on site so there will be someone on site throughout the day to keep an eye on things while you are at the beach.

Please don’t leave valuable stuff in tents or unlocked vehicles.

There is no agenda for the weekend as yet as the activities largely depend on the weather .

Plans will be made nearer the time based on weather and surf conditions.

Guests are free to come and go as they wish and while most of us will be spending the day at the beach plenty of other activities are available.

As well as having many great places near by to kitesurf, surf and SUP such as Saunton, Westward Ho! and Crow Point.

Woolacombe also offers a whole range of windless day activities.

WEST’s partner SUP school WHATSUP  will be on site .

They have a selection of there own boards as well as models from Fanatic

In the event of a lack of wind, we will be putting on sessions along the beautiful North Devon coastline throughout the weekend.
