Woolacombe Weekender

August 13th 14th and 15th

WEST have joined up with WhatSUP to host the Woolacombe weekender. Now in its fourth year we look forward to seeing you at our campsite in the beautiful North Devon resort of Woolacombe.

Join us for a weekend of camping, partying and watersports at the beach.

The Woolacombe Weekender is all about relaxing and having fun with old friends and making new ones doing the sports we love.

There is no official program for the weekend as the weather plays such an important part in the sports we enjoy.

While most of our guests will spend the days at the beach, the area offers lots of oportunities for other activities.

In the evening its  back to camp for campfires, music and partying.

Whatsup will be providing kids entertainment in the form of a cinema room as well as Frisbee golf and other games accross the weekend.

Woolacombe bay offers excelent conditions for kitesurfing but other nearby beaches and spots such as Saunton, Westward Ho! and Crow Point also offer a range of different conditions and can cope with a whole range of wind conditions

WEST do not offer kiteboarding lessons but check out 514 Elemental at Westward Ho!

If SUP is your thing Whatsup we be on site all weekend for advice on where to SUP and to show off their own new board range. Whatsup will be organising a SUP trip over the weekend . Details will be relased closer to the time when the weather becomes more predictable.

The Site

The site is at the top of the valley above Woolacombe. We have sole use of this site all weekend and there will be security on site all weekend.
The campsite is open for Guests from 3pm Friday until 6pm Sunday.

Site Facilities

The site will have toilets and facilities to empty chemical toilets but there are NO SHOWERS

The site has several drinking water taps.

We will have generators on site to power lighting and sound systems but we are not able to offer electric hook up.

If you wish to use your own generator you are more than welcome, but you will be camped in an area reserved for generator users and may not be camped with your friends.

We will be erecting several marquees to cope with the glorious sunshine we have ordered for the weekend. The marquees will have more than enough space to maintain social distancing and will provide shelter from the traditional August weather.

Music from a team of DJs will be hosted in the event marquee during the evening and Whatsup will be providing a range of activities for kids through the weekend during the evening.

The site is part of a working farm so we ask you all to keep to the very few rules we have to help us ” leave no trace” and to ensure we all have a great weekend.

There is loads of room for camping but we ask you to keep a five meter gap between tents/campervans in case of fire. You are free to camp wherever you like in the field but pick your spot wisely.

We will have a quiet area for those of you who fancy an early night or have young families. We will also have a naughty area for those of you who believe sleeping is cheating. Pleas ask one of the crew when you arrive for the best spot to suit your needs.

Caravans and motor homes are welcome, however,  the access to the field is quite tight so if your vehicle is bigger than a Sprinter or Crafter please get in touch with us before you arrive.

Dogs are welcome on site but please be aware we are camped on farm land and livestock is likely to be in the surounding fields, also other dogs and young children will be at the event. Dog owners are expected to clean up after their animals .

As owners, you know if your dogs can be trusted but any issues with dogs will be delt with swiftly and they will be asked to leave.

Recycling bins will be provided on site, but any other non recyclable non burnable rubbish you make we ask you to take away with you.

Please remember after we leave the animals return so even small amounts of litter matter.

Last year this was the total amount of rubbish we could find before we left.

This is one of the reasons we are aloud to use this beautiful site and we  thank you for helping us keep the field clean, tidy and safe.

BBQ and Fire Pits

Pleas keep all BBQs off the ground to avoid burning the grass.

A larger central fire pit will be lit in the entertainment area but small fire pits are also allowed as long as they are off the grass.

Please bring your own wood and DO NOT forage in the hedges for fire wood.

We will be adhearing to all COVID regulations and restrictions in place at the time of the event.

At the moment we are asuming that there will still be some regulations in place when the event takes place.

We will be providing sanatising stations accross the site and will be expecting guests to abide by any social distancing regulations in place at the time.

As i’m sure you are all aware this issue is still very fluid so its difficult to predict what restrictions may be in place in August but we expect all guests to abide by any rules that we need to put in place to be compliant.

Track and Trace

Last year we were required to keep all guest’s information for 21 days after the event and if requested give this information to the goverments Track and Trace scheme.

If for any reason you would object to your information being used in this way we politely ask you not to attend our event.

By apllying for tickets to the Woolacombe Weekender you agree to WEST kiteboarding holding your information, and any information relating to other members of your party for 21 days.
